Bergli authors present their wares at book festival on Lake Geneva
Bergli Books authors Clare O’Dea (The Naked Swiss: A Nation Behind 10 Myths) and Diccon Bewes (How to Be Swiss: An Instruction Manual) were on hand in the Swiss town of Morges at the beginning of September for the literary festival “Le livre sur les quais”.
Besides signing books and speaking with attendees in the authors' tent, O’Dea and Bewes participated in panel discussion titled “Switzerland, Brexit and the new European reality”.
According to Clare O’Dea, whose book touches on the Swiss relationship with the European Union, that relationship has become very complex and needs to be simplified and reformed. Diccon Bewes spoke about the merits of Swiss direct democracy and how difficult it would be to transfer such a model to the UK.
